DG308ADY-T1 is an interface device of the Analog Switches, Multiplexers and Demultiplexers category, which operates on digital signals while working with analog signals. This device offers two features that ensure efficient switching and routing of analog signals. The first is its high off-state impedance (25 MΩ maximum) which helps to reduce noise pickup. The second is its low RON (typically 10 Ω max.), which minimizes the switching drop that occurs when the control logic is switched in and out. These features make the device suitable for interfacing analog signals between different systems in communication, video and audio applications.

The DG308ADY-T1 comprises four independent analog switches. Each switch consists of an N-channel and a P-channel MOSFET connected in series. The high impedance state of each switch is obtained by clipping the gate voltage of the corresponding MOSFET to ground. The low impedance state of the switch is achieved by applying a high voltage (up to 12V) to the gate of the MOSFET, allowing current to flow through the series connection. It also utilizes a logic-controlled release mechanism for releasing the MOSFETs in the low-impedance state to ensure a fast power-off.

The DG308ADY-T1 is built with an N-channel depletion-mode MOSFET, which serves as the active switch element. A depletion-mode MOSFET has two output terminals, one labeled “A” and one labeled “B”. When a low voltage is applied to the gate of the MOSFET, it will remain in the “on” state, allowing current to flow between the two output terminals. When a higher voltage is applied to the gate, the MOSFET will turn off, inhibiting the flow of current between the terminals.

In addition, the DG308ADY-T1 has four Schottky diodes acting as the protection circuit for the switches. These diodes help to reduce the spike voltage that would normally occur when the logic device is switched in and out. They also help to protect the device from overvoltage, which can cause damage to the MOSFETs.

The DG308ADY-T1 is an easy-to-use device, supporting 8- and 10-bit data formats. It also features a low power requirement (typically 28 mW maximum). In applications requiring logic-controlled pull-up resistors, such as digital communication lines and audio signal processing systems, the device can be used to reduce the requirement for additional pull-up circuitry.
