Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are one of the most widely used and cost effective forms of capacitors available on the market, delivering relatively high capacitance per unit volume and are used in a variety of applications. The ECE-A1CKS100I belongs to the family of Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, and is often used in both high frequency and low frequency applications. The ECE-A1CKS100I is an axial-type aluminum electrolytic capacitor that offers improved properties over general purpose aluminum electrolytic capacitors. As the cations are attracted to the anode, they react with the anode, forming a thin film of oxide (the dielectric). As a result, charge accumulates on the anode and creates a capacitance. This appears across the two electrodes of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor and the capacitance is proportional to the size of the anode and the oxide layer.
