Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, also known as electrolytic capacitors or wet electrolytic capacitors, are a kind of energy storage device with a polarized capacitor such as a ceramic capacitor as the core part. The main difference is that the electrolytic capacitor has a much larger capacity than the ceramic capacitor. It is widely used in switching power supplies and filter circuits of various electronic devices. Its application field and working principle are as follows.

EEE-TG1H220P capacitors are commonly used in SMPS or switched mode power supplies, motor control and inverters and other circuits requiring high current pulse applications. It is also used in industrial control, instrumentation, frequency conversion motor driver, communication, rectifier circuits, computer power and other related fields.
EEE-TG1H220P Working Principle
The main operating principle of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor is to use the electrolyte immersed in the special implant to serve as the second electrode and to be the opposite of the anode aluminum foil. The anode connected to the end of the capacitor shell is connected with the negative electrode of the power supply and the negative electrode shell is connected with the positive electrode of the power supply. When the power supply is connected, the current between the two electrodes will form an electric field to reduce the magnitude of polarization.
The electrolytic capacitor consists of a cathode and an anode, both of which are electrolytically treated. The anode is usually aluminum foil with oxide film. The oxide layer with dielectric properties is an insulation layer between the two electrodes of the capacitor.The cathode is made of chopped (or rolled) porous aluminum frame, which is soaked in an anion-enriched solution.
When a voltage is applied to the electrolytic capacitor, the anode forms a negative charge, the electrolyte forms a positive charge, and electrons flow through the electrolyte to neutralize the charge on the anode. As a result, an electric field forms across the electrolyte and an electric flow forms between the two electrodes of the electrolytic capacitor, so that the power supply is connected and the circuit is powered.
The di-electric performance of the aluminum electrolytic capacitors is generally divided into three categories, respectively, between 6.3V-63V, 25V-200V and 100V-450V, but the working principles of the three categories are basically the same.
