Working Principle of EEU-FR1H121L
The EEU-FR1H121L capacitors work on the principle of the electrochemical double layer capacitor. This capacitor stores energy through the physical separation of charges between two dissimilar electrodes, which are kept in a liquid electrolyte solution. The negative electrode is made of aluminum and the positive of a conductive solid or liquid material.
In the EEU-FR1H121L application, the electrolyte between the two electrodes will form an oxide layer on the anode, the positive electrode. This oxide layer creates a large surface area, which greatly increases the capacitance of the capacitor. The amount of charge stored in the capacitor will be directly proportional to the surface area and thickness of the oxide layer.
When the capacitor is in use, electric current will flow from the positive to the negative terminal. As the capacitor is discharging, the charge stored in the electrode separates and the electrons move in a particular direction, creating a voltage drop across the capacitor. This voltage drop is used to power the circuit.
