Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are among the most widely used components in electronic circuits, providing significant advantages in terms of high capacitance ratings, low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and relative small size compared to ceramic, film and paper resistors. This type of capacitor uses aluminum foil, rolled into the shape of a cylindrical cylinder, with an electrolyte material, usually an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide (KOH), deposited on both sides of the aluminum foil. With the help of an external voltage source, electrons flow from the electrolyte to the aluminum, forming an electric field that creates a dielectric layer between the two materials. The dielectric layer will store energy, thus forming a capacitor.

EEU-FR1V330B Application Field and Working Principle

The EEU-FR1V330B is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a rated voltage of 16V and a capacitance of 330 μF. This capacitor is often used in applications that require high capacitance, such as in audio and power filters and power supply circuits. It is also useful as a decoupling capacitor, helping to reduce the amount of high-frequency noise in circuits. The aluminum electrolytic capacitor works by storing electrical energy between the two aluminum plates and the electrolyte solution. The positive plate of the capacitor will attract more electrons than the negative plate. This creates a potential difference between the two plates, and thus, the capacitor becomes charged.
