The EKC-LM3S2965 is a versatile development board designed for embedded applications. It is suitable for use in a variety of applications including those involving digital signal processing (DSP), microcontroller (MCU), and analog-style I/O. The board also incorporates features such as external local memory, power input/output (I/O) ports, potentiometers and switches, and an LCD display with joystick control. This evaluation board can be used to evaluate and develop embedded designs using the Texas Instruments Tiva C Series family of microcontrollers (MCU) and/or digital signal processor (DSP) devices.

The core of the evaluation board is a Tiva™C Series MCU, a high-performance 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-M family processor with features ranging from 50MHz up to 120MHz. The integrated high-ceiling memory, up to 512KB of Flash memory, and 16kB of integrated SRAM memory allow for quick and efficient execution of program code. This board also incorporates the Flexible Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Generator, which provides the ability to control the flow of energy and better manage industrial and medical applications.

The board includes two external connector interfaces. The first is an I2C port for connecting standard peripheral gadgets such as LCD and input keys. The second port is the LCD interface, which enables connection of a wide variety of LCD panels and display sizes. Additionally, the board includes two potentiometers and five Switch Keys, which provide user flexibility of input options for controlling the board. The board can also be interfaced to signal acquisition devices through its SPI port and UART ports.

The EKC- LM3S2965 evaluation board utilizes a LM3S2965 MCU device with an ARM Cortex-M3 processor core. The integrated memory provides up to 512KB Flash and 16kB SRAM. Through the use of the integrated analog-to-digital (ADC) converter module, the board can acquire up to 8 single-ended channels, allowing for analog input and sensor data processing. Additionally, it provides a pulse width modulated generator, allowing for full control of the board’s outputs.

The board also includes a graphical LCD and display with a 16x2 internal character display. The display provides the ability to view sensor data and graphical output on the board, as well as to receive user input from the integrated ten-key keypad. The board also includes two potentiometers, allowing for user adjustment of settings without the need for a computer.

The output capability of the board is provided through its 8 digital outputs ports which allow for controlling digital devices and driving relays. The board also includes a UART port for receiving data from a variety of peripheral devices. Other interfaces such as SPI and I2C are also included, allowing for additional connectivity and control options.
