EVB_RT5785AGJ8F, a type of evaluation board, belongs to the DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS field. It is a DC/DC step-down switching regulator with an integrated high-voltage start up circuit. The basic function of the evaluation board is to convert an input voltage of up to 5.0V down to a regulated 3.3V with a maximum output current of 600mA. In addition, the board is designed to enable users to easily evaluate the performance of the RT5785/AGJ8F synchronous buck switching regulator.

The RT5785/AGJ8F device features high efficiency and requires no Schottky diode or bypass capacitors for output voltage regulation, and has a two-clock frequency operation that increases loop response time and reduces system switching frequency noise. It also has short circuit protection (SCP) and thermal shutdown protection (TSD) circuits for over-current and over-temperature protection. In addition, it also features adjustable current limit and output voltage.

The EVB_RT5785AGJ8F Evaluation board can be used to test the functioning of the RT5785/AGJ8F device and to demonstrate the performance of the device in order to assess its utility in many applications. The EVB-RT5785AGJ8F offers several features to facilitate evaluation of the device. The device enable evaluation of RT5785/AGJ8F in various different applications. These include voltage conversion from 3.3V to 5V, battery powered applications, solar powered applications, clock generator circuit and low power regulator applications.

The EVB_RT5785AGJ8F Evaluation board is designed to operate with a 5V input voltage, and includes a power transistor to regulate the output voltages. The board includes a reference voltage divider for setting the output voltage. The Reference Voltage Divider can be adjusted by turning a small screw located between the two reference resistors. The reference voltage divider allows the output voltage to be adjusted within certain limits.

The RT5785/AGJ8F switching regulator also features an integrated high-voltage start-up circuit. The high-voltage start-up circuit is used to eliminate the need for a large start-up resistor. The start-up circuit will gradually increase the output current in order to reduce output voltage ripple. The output voltage of the RT5785/AGJ8F device can be adjusted through the reference voltage divider.
