Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors, abbreviated as AECs, are a type of electrical components used extensively in the fields of electrical engineering and electronics. AECs are constructed using three main components with alternating layers of anodized aluminum foil in between two thin non-conductive materials. The layers of aluminum are the anodes, whereas the inner and outer plates are the cathodes. The anodes are separated and electrically isolated from one another by means of an electrolyte, which also serves as the dielectric between them. When charged, an electrochemical reaction occurs between the anodes and electrolyte, storing electrical energy between the capacitors\' electrodes.
