GSGB110 Application Field and Working Principle

GSGB110 is a glazed ceramic terminal barrier current limiter fuse series designed for photovoltaic systems. The fuse body adopts a glazed ceramic terminal well, with a brittle point on the fuse bracket entremet for quick operation in case of over-current overload. It’s suitable for 11kV and 33kV AC cable systems with currents from 10A to 1200A.

GSGB110 terminals are made of glazed ceramic, which helps to use water-cooled terminal connectors for higher wattage modules and arrays. The robust housing construction makes it a heavy duty fuse applicable for small and medium AC PV systems.

Working Principle

When over-current passes through a GSGB110 fuse, the two-part fuse bracket entwines and there is a sudden surge in arc length and temperature which consequently melts down the contact points. By this, the circuit is closed again and the over-current cut off, thus ensuring safe operation.

Several features of this fuse ensure a reliable operation and a secure protection. Due to a quick acting break time, no additional protection mechanisms are needed. In addition, several safety features such as thermal protective, over-current cut-off, and over-heat or over-load protection are included in this fuse.

Application Field

GSGB110 is mainly applied in 11kV and 33kV AC cable systems with currents from 10A to 1200A. It’s highly suitable for various photovoltaic systems, including small to medium-sized residential, commercial and industrial AC PV systems, due to its efficient thermal protection and over-heat or over-load protection. The glazed ceramic terminal barrier also makes GSGB110 a preferable option for using with water-cooled terminal connectors in higher wattage modules and arrays.
