INN3168C-H107-TL is an AC/DC flyback converter power management integrated circuit (PMIC) intended for use as a primary side controller in offline switcher applications. The INN3168C-H107-TL PMIC has an input voltage range from 90 VAC to 265VAC, depending on the application. It includes a wide array of features to provide a complete solution for off-line power supplies. It features integrated over voltage protection and soft start, an adjustable frequency range of 45kHz to 65kHz, as well as adjustable current limits, over/under voltage protection and over/under temperature protection.

The operating principle of the INN3168C-H107-TL is based on the pulse width modulation (PWM) control of the power stages. The output voltage is proportional to the duty cycle of the pulse and the output current is proportional to the voltage of the pulse. The PWM signal is generated by the internal oscillator and can be modulated with an internal feedback loop in order to maintain a constant output voltage/current. The IC works in cycle-by-cycle current mode.

The design of the feedback control loop for the INN3168C-H107-TL is similar to other PMICs, but does not need external components, such as resistors or capacitors.
