The ISL6560EVAL1 Evaluation Board is a full-featured evaluation board solution for DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications. It is designed to provide users with an easy-to-use platform to evaluate the device’s performance and compatibility with their application. The board incorporates the ISL6560 10W-30W isolated synchronous Buck Regulator to generate 1.5V, 2.5V or 3.3V output from an input voltage range of 4.5V – 16V.

This complete off-line SMPS power solution is ideal for applications that need to generate a Power over Ethernet (PoE) DC/DC output supply. It meets both the IEEE802.3-2002 Type 2 Hub and the IEEE802.3at Gigabit end-span PSE requirements. The ISL6560EVAL1 can also be used in other DC/DC and AC/DC applications, such as automotive, telecom/datacom, industrial and COT (Computer on Top) applications.

The board includes two voltage options, a single voltage (1.5V, 2.5V or 3.3V) and a dual voltage (1.2V & 5V). The adjustable output voltage enables the user to adjust the output voltage to best match the application requirements. The reference for the voltage options is set by two trimpots.

The evaluation board offers a wide range of protection features, including over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and under voltage protection. It also has an adjustable over-current protection limit. The board also includes a thermal sensor and several LEDs to indicate the operating status of the board.

The ISL6560EVAL1 board also includes a number of other features to facilitate testing, such as, a DC/DC pre-regulated input, a 0.1μF ceramic output capacitor, two output terminals, two adjustable voltage references, an enable input, and external synchronization signal resistors.
