• ISL6719ARZ Application Field and Working Principle

The ISL6719ARZ is a premium-grade linear regulator that combines PMIC features with robust voltage regulation to provide flexible power supply solutions for a variety of applications. ISL6719ARZ is a highly efficient, low cost, 3-Phase Voltage Regulation Module (VRM) that provides robust current limiting, load management and includes an output interface to further configure system-level power distribution.

The 3-Phase VRM has a maximum current level of 30A and a power output of up to 180W. It also supports low-noise, low-output ripple, IR drop protection and robust transient load response. ISL6719ARZ is capable of delivering stable voltage regulation and accurate output voltage control in both high-capacitive and low-capacitive applications.

The ISL6719ARZ has strong scalable features in the form of an internal Digital Voltage Monitor (DVM) that enables simple and consistent monitoring of the output voltage in real-time. The DVM can also monitor 0.5% of the reference voltage for auto-regulation or control by external regulators. ISL6719ARZ features dynamic voltage control (DVC) for fine dynamic output voltage adjustments when using an external resistive-divider or DCDC controller.

ISL6719ARZ has built-in thermal-shutdown circuitry to protect against overheating and events such as over-voltage or over-temperature conditions. The 3-phase VRM also supports adaptive voltage scaling (AVS) which maintains a steady output voltage level over varying input voltage conditions. AVS also provides dynamic voltage compensation to boost performance and minimize power consumption.

The wide input voltage range of the ISL6719ARZ module ranges from 8V to 32V with a maximum output current of 30A and an output hold up time of 60µs. The VRM also features over-temperature protection, overcurrent protection and low-output voltage protection. The 3-phase VRM supplies 15A of current to each output stage and its efficient design reduces the power loss to approximately 97%.

The ISL6719ARZ is suitable for use in notebooks, tablets, monitors, gaming machines and industrial applications. It’s ideal for applications that require a robust, reliable and scalable power solution and is suitable for powering Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 and AMD Zen processor-based systems.
