The JANTX2N2221AUA is a single, bipolar junction transistor commonly used in electronic control and automatic control fields. It belongs to the class of Transistors - Bipolar (BJT) - Single and is an epitaxially grown junction transistor. This transistor has a gain hFE ranging from 50 to 200, depending on its size.

The JANTX2N2221AUA is an NPN bipolar junction transistor and has three terminals, namely the collector (C), the base (B) and the emitter (E). When operating in its active region, the transistor behaves as an amplifier, with the collector current being amplified by a factor of the hFE, the gain of the transistor. It is also able to operate in the saturation and cut-off regions where it functions as an electronic switch, switching between an “on” and “off” state.
