As a polypropylene film capacitor, the KP1830110634 uses an electrostatic field generated between an active and a reference electrode. During capacitor charging, the reference electrode charges up while the active electrode remains neutral. The electric field between the two electrodes creates a stable electric potential, which is maintained even in the event of voltage drop. As a result, the capacitor stores electrical energy.
When the current is cut off or there is no voltage, the capacitor discharges. As the voltage applied to the capacitor is reduced, the electric field between the two electrodes weakens, reducing the potential difference, until the electric field disappears. As a result, the capacitor remains in a steady state until the voltage is applied again.
