The LC72AY-1 mechanical thermostat is designed to meet the requirements of household and commercial applications that require precise temperature control ranging from 60°F (15°C) to 200°F (93°C). It is commonly used in food warming appliances such as catering buffets, baking ovens, deep-fat fryers, steam ovens, ranges, griddles, grills, and food warmers. Working Principle
The LC72AY-1 mechanical thermostat is a temperature sensing and switching device based on liquid expansion which is caused by changes in ambient temperature. When the ambient temperature rises, the liquid inside the device expands and with the force of a spring, it pushes on a flexible diaphragm, creating an opening in the contacts to break an electrical circuit. Conversely, when the ambient temperature decreases, the liquid in the thermostat contracts and pressure on the diaphragm is released, causing the spring to push the contacts back together, creating a closed circuit. This switching action allows the device to accurately maintain the set temperature range.
