​LM2673S-3.3 is a PMIC-Voltage Regulator-DC/DC switching regulator, offer a fixed 3.3V output at up to 1A. It consists of a non-synchronous buck switch-mode voltage regulator controller, together with MOSFET pass devices, input and output capacitors, inductor, and other passive components to provide a controllable, efficient, and compact DC output.The LM2673S-3.3 regulator can be used in a wide range of applications including server power supplies, networking equipment, industrial and automotive systems. It features No Load Power Saving Mode and soft-start, thermal shutdown and cycle-by-cycle current limiting, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, integral frequency control, and operates at high frequencies to minimize noise and power loss.The LM2673S-3.3 regulator is ideal for extending battery life and reducing power consumption in mobile and portable applications. The integrated current-mode control ensures stable operation and excellent line/load transient performance over a wide input/output voltage range. Its wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 15V makes it suitable for low-cost, low-voltage power supplies, including off-line supplies powered from sources such as four AA alkaline cells.The LM2673S-3.3 converter includes an adjustable voltage (UV) and cycle-by-cycle current limiter (CCL) circuit to protect it from over current and over voltage conditions. The CCL circuitry senses the peak inductor current and limits the current limit to prevent over-current damage in the event of a short-circuit or other overload condition. The UV circuitry continuously monitors the output voltage and shuts down the switching oscillator to prevent over voltage damage if the output voltage rises too high.The LM2673S-3.3 provides fast transient response with a low-noise PWM modulator to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). The PWM modulator can be programmed to a variety of switching frequencies, offering the user flexibility in selecting an optimal frequency for the application. A programmable soft start feature is included to eliminate large input current surges at start-up. Also, the start-up and shutdown of the switching converter are handled by an accurate voltage monitoring circuit.The LM2673S-3.3 is optimized for low cost and for making use of typical components in its application. The integrated timer controlstart-up and shutdown of the switching converter, and it can be programmed via an external resistor. The total components of the application circuit are minimized and it offers a space-saving solution while achieving a high-efficiency conversion.The LM2673S-3.3 provides a general-purpose, low-cost and easy-to-implement DC/DC voltage conversion solution.
