LM2677S-ADJ Application Field and Working Principle

The LM2677S-ADJ is a high-power DC-DC step-down switching regulator designed with integrated adjustable switches and high current capability ideal for large LED lighting applications. The device utilizes an optimized step-down control technique to provide excellent load and line regulation while minimizing energy consumption from the inductor as compared to traditional fixed off-time PWM controllers. The LM2677S-ADJ also features adjustable undervoltage protection, adjustable switching frequency and low voltage settings, enabling a wide variety of flexible design solutions. The wide range of current capability, adjustable switching frequency and programmable current limit make it suitable for a variety of applications. In addition, the device has integrated short-circuit protection and overvoltage protection. It also has superior transients response and low output voltage ripple. Other features include current mode operation, switch turn-on and turn-off slope control, and thermal shutdown and current limit protection.The LM2677S-ADJ is capable of supplying upto 2A current, and offers adjustable output voltage from 0.8V to 5.0V. The device features a wide input voltage range from 8V to 60V, allowing the regulator to be used with a variety of power sources such as battery and solar photovoltaic systems.
