The LM2725M/NOPB is an integrated gate driver solutions capable of driving N-channel MOSFETs or IGBTs with dedicated input circuitry designed to prevent false turn-on and shoot-through prevention. Gate drivers are important components in power management integrated circuits (PMICs) which are commonly used in applications such as battery-powered products or in power conversion solutions. The LM2725M/NOPB is specifically designed to drive IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistors), which provide high power capacity, high current-handling capability and low switching losses.

LM2725M/NOPB offers a highly integrated solution to a complex design challenge in the PMIC- gate drivers market. It has dual-channel drivers with dedicated input circuitry designed to prevent false turn-on and shoot-through prevention. Its features provide robust on-time drivers for both high-side and low-side NFETs or IGBTs. The device also has an externally programmable gate-emitter directional current protection for NFET or IGBT. The LM2725M/NOPB features two dedicated channels, one for the high-side driver and one for the low-side driver. The high-side driver provides the gate signal to the high-side NFET or IGBT while the low-side driver provides a signal to the low-side NFET or IGBT. The device also has a control input that enables and disables the low-side driver which allows for pre-charging the gate capacitance of NFETs or IGBTs before enabling the driver. The LM2725M/NOPB also has an overvoltage protection (OVP) circuit which protects against overvoltage by automatically shutting off the high-side and low-side drivers if the voltage across their outputs exceeds the OVP threshold.

In terms of output characteristics, the LM2725M/NOPB provides up to 2A peak driver current, 0.2A minimum driver current and 5A driver peak current through two channels, with no crossover current. The device also has an integrated under-voltage lockout (UVL) and thermal shutdown circuitry to protect against thermal stress and over-current conditions. Another feature is the programmable deadtime, which can be adjusted to maximize the noise immunity of the system. The programmable deadtime ranges from zero delay to 200nS.

The LM2725M/NOPB is ideal for a wide range of applications that require high-speed switch-mode power converters.
