LM2736XMK Integrated Circuits (ICs)

The LM2736XMK is a high performance, low power DC/DC switch mode regulator family from Texas Instruments. It is designed to provide a highly reliable voltage regulation for applications requiring a low quiescent current and a very wide input voltage range. The LM2736XMK is designed to provide up to 3A of continuous load current and a fixed positive output voltage of either 2.5V, 3.3V or 5V.

The LM2736XMK is a PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) device that is used to convert a varying input voltage into a steady output voltage. The device also includes an adjustable current limit for over-current protection. The LM2736XMK supports both fixed frequency and spread spectrum switching to minimize conducted EMI.

The LM2736XMK utilizes a fixed frequency switching loop which employs a high voltage NPN oscillator, constructed with a resistor in series with a capacitor, to generate a fixed frequency PWM signal. The current regulator loop compares the output current to the current limit setting and adjusts the duty cycle accordingly. The enable pin is used to turn off the controller, allowing a system-level power-up or power-down sequence to occur.

The LM2736XMK also features an active current-share mode which allows two or more converters to be connected in parallel to share load current, increasing system efficiency and reliability. The LM2736XMK is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and is RoHS compliant.
