,<p>LM337H/NOPB, a linear voltage regulator, is a three-terminal adjustable negative regulator. It is available in a fixed 5-volt output version, and also adjustable output versions. The LM337H/NOPB offers an output current capability of up to 2.5A over an output voltage range of -1.2 to -25V. LM337H/NOPB can be easily configured for overvoltage protections and soft start operation.</p><p><strong>Application Field</strong></p><p>As a type of linear voltage regulator, LM337H/NOPB has wide application fields, such as general purpose industrial circuits, power supplies, control circuits, automotive electronics, audio-video systems and protection circuits. </p><p>With its adjustable output voltage range, this voltage regulator can be used as a negative voltage regulator, with the output voltage adjustable by an external resistor network. This feature makes it ideal for these application fields, as each application may require an output voltage more suitable for the system as a whole.</p><p>For audio-video systems, the LM337H/NOPB can be used in several circuits, such as DC power supplies, audio power amplifiers and speech circuits. It is also able to protect the equalizer or mixer circuits against overload when used properly. For automotive electronics circuits, specific implementations of this Voltage regulator can be used to support auxiliary circuits, since their ability to reduce the input voltage provides a power source for the necessary circuitry.</p><p><strong>Working Principle</strong></p><p>LM337H/NOPB is built around a single-ended transconductance amplifier, which is the main component of the voltage regulator. The outputs of the amplifier feed into a PNP transistor, which acts as the output stage. The output voltage of the regulator is determined by two resistors, the output resistance, Rf, and the adjustment resistor, R1.</p><p>The input voltage is regulated by varying the collector voltage of the PNP output transistor, while the output voltage is regulated by varying the emitter voltage of the output transistor.
