LMX2306TMX/NOPB is a fully integrated, high performance PLL frequency synthesizer, which can be used in a wide range of timing-sensitive applications: wireless base stations, Point-to-Point radio, software defined radio and RF communication systems. Depending on the application, this frequency synthesizer can generate frequencies in the range of 1 MHz to 4 GHz.

The LMX2306TMX/NOPB has two distinct components: the Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) and the Frequency Synthesizer. The PLL consists of a phase detector, a Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO), a loop filter and a reference oscillator. The phase detector is responsible for comparing the phase of the input signal to that of the feedback signal, in order to control the frequency of the VCO. The loop filter is then used to filter out any undesirable frequencies from the feedback signal.
