The LT1576CS8-SYNC#PBF is a monolithic integrated synchronous step-down switching regulator designed for use as a direct battery-to-point-of-load (PoL) converter in applications requiring up to 5A of load current. This switching regulator device supports input voltages of up to 40V, while providing up to 5A of continuous load current and up to 10A transient load current. It can step down an input as high as 40V to generate an output as low as 0V across a wide input voltage range. The device includes a switching frequency loop that automatically adjust the operating frequency over a wide range in order to maintain regulation, providing superior noise performance. The device includes integrated power MOSFETs that provide high efficiency, low part count and high power density in the application.
