The MAX3243EIDW is part of a family of 3.3V, full-featured transceivers which allow asynchronous communication up to 20 Mbps between two paths with TTL/ CMOS logic levels. It is a true EIA-232/RS-232 transceiver in an 8-pin mini-DIP or small 3mm x 3mm package. This transceiver is ideal for port-powered designs because it has built-in slew rate control and utilizes only a single +3.3V power supply. In addition, it has an additional enable/disable control which allows many additional configuration capabilities.
