Linear comparators are one of the most widespread applications in the field of analog electronics. They are used to detect and compare differences between two or more electrical signals or voltages. The MAX994EUD is a precision CMOS comparator designed for single supply operation and offers low power dissipation and wide supply range in an 8-pin DIP package.

The device uses single-supply operation from ±2.5V to ±15V and can detect small differences between two input signals, with very low output signal delays. It also has an on-chip hysteresis circuit that increases the immunity to input noise.
