The MK3200SILF is a programmable clock generator, frequency synthesizer, and PLL used in multiple applications. It has three output channels and is designed to replace the MK3180, the previous version of the MK3200. The MK3200SILF offers improved flexibility, performance and integration to support applications with extremely low power consumption requirements.

The MK3200SILF uses a fractional-N PLL technology to achieve high output accuracy, low jitter, and low phase noise. It also includes a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Output frequencies of the MK3200SILF can be programmed to a wide range, from 10 MHz to 1.4 GHz.

The MK3200SILF is ideal for applications such as telecommunications, telecom equipment, automotive, industrial automation, avionics, medical, test and measurement. It offers superior performance even in the presence of temperature variations.

The MK3200 offers two types of output configurations – single-ended and differential. The single-ended configuration offers balanced outputs, while the differential configuration offers better phase noise rejection. Output channels can be phase-locked, independently configured and frequency tuned. The output signals can also be routed to an external FIFO buffer with up to eight FIFO levels.

The MK3200SILF operates in two different modes – the Shutdown Mode and the Operating Mode. In the Shutdown Mode, the PLL is put into a low-power state and the outputs are disabled. In the Operating Mode, the PLL is enabled and all three outputs are activated. A frequency chip can be used to set the output frequency. The corresponding frequency value is then programmed into the MK3200 via an SPI interface.
