The MPLAD30KP22A is a bi-directional Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode array that is used to protect electronic components from the potentially damaging effects of electrical transients. It is designed to absorb overvoltage transients and limit their voltage peaks to a safe level that is within the operating range of the protected load. It also protects against reverse transient voltage surges and changes in operating conditions, such as load dump, electrostatic discharge (ESD), unidirectional lightning pulses, and autonomous emitter switching.

As the transient surge voltage rises to a level that is above the breakdown voltage of the diodes, they will begin to conduct and reduce the voltage across the protected load. The peak current is limited by the parasitic resistance of the structure, thereby eliminating the possibility of excessive current flow.
