MVY50VE331ML17TR aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a polarized capacitor. It consists of an electrolyte containing metal atoms which acts as the cathode, an anode made up of aluminum foil and a separator of pure cellulose paper soaked in the electrolyte solution. The aluminum anode is etched into a very thin plate. When a voltage is applied, the positive ions of electrolyte solution move to the cathode and the negative ions move to form a film on the anode. This forms a dielectric film with a variable capacitance.
