NCP1129DIPGEVB

The NCP1129DIPGEVB evaluation board is an off-line, DC/DC and AC/DC switching power supply designed for applications requiring a low cost peripheral power solution. The board consists of a high efficiency DC/DC converter, a medium power low side switch, and a low-side controller to provide a complete power solution suitable for automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics applications. The NCP1129DIPGEVB board provides a complete switching power supply solution for both AC/DC and DC/DC applications.

The high efficiency DC/DC converter is based on the NCP1129 industry standard flyback topology. This topology has been optimized for a low cost, high efficiency solution for peripheral power applications. The NCP1129 provides high efficiency and low output ripple over a wide input voltage range. The high efficiency allows the switch to operate at a lower current, reducing power consumption and allowing the NCP1129 to be used in a variety of energy saving applications.

The medium power low side switch is integrated into the NCP1129DIPGEVB, allowing a simpler, lower cost solution. A built-in voltage monitoring circuit ensures proper start and protection of the components while providing voltage feedback to the controller. The NCP1129DIPGEVB allows for current and voltage regulation with an adjustable current limit that can be increased to support higher power applications.

The low-side controller is used to ensure a smooth transition from input to output, preventing the output voltage from dipping below the minimum required level during the soft-start. This controller also provides overcurrent protection and features pulse skipping when the load is reduced, allowing for a higher efficiency over a wide range of load conditions. The NCP1129DIPGEVB also features a low EMI (electromagnetic interference) solution with the use of an active EMI balun.
