The NCP585DSN28T1G is a linear, low-drop-out voltage regulator designed to convert a high-level AC supply into a perfectly regulated direct-current (DC) voltage. It relies on linear, transistor based, architectures and the use of a reference voltage to measure and proportion the desired output. The NCP585DSN28T1G is equipped with ESD protection, is capable of operating from both input and output voltages of up to 27V and can support an output current of up to 1.2A. As an added value, additional features include soft start, output over-voltage protection, line voltage dispersion detection, load short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, thermal shutdown protection and an exceptionally low quiescent current of 6µA.

In order to implement the NCP585DSN28T1G into a specific design consideration must be taken into account related to the current sourcing and sinking of the device, its power requirements, and its external electrical load requirements.
