1. Description
The NEO-M8Q-0 series of concurrent GNSS modules are based on the industry-approved NEO form factor and high-performance u-blox M8 GNSS engine. The NEO-M8 module can use Beidou or GLONASS to receive up to three GNSS systems at the same time, can identify multiple constellations at the same time, and can provide excellent positioning accuracy in urban canyons or weak signals. In order to improve positioning better and faster, the NEO-M8Q-0 series supports the enhanced functions of QZSS, GAGAN and IMES as well as WAAS, EGNOS and MSAS. The NEO-M8 series also supports message integrity protection, geofencing and fraud detection through configurable interface settings to easily adapt to customer applications. NEO‑M8M is optimized for cost-sensitive applications, while NEO-M8N and NEO-M8Q provide the best solution performance. The future-oriented NEO M8N and NEO-M8J contain internal flash memory, which can be used for future firmware updates. This makes NEO-M8N and NEO-M8J very suitable for industrial and automotive applications. The I2C-compliant DDC interface provides connectivity and can be used with most u-blox cellular modules. For RF optimization, NEO-M8J, NEO-M8N and NEO-M8Q have an additional front-end LNA and a front-end SAW filter. The GNSS chip AEC‑Q100, which uses U-blox M8 modules to meet the following standards, is manufactured in an ISO/TS 16949 certified site and has been fully tested at the system level. The qualification test is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the ISO16750 standard: "Road vehicles-Environmental conditions and testing of electrical and electronic equipment". The u-blox NEO-M8 module can also benefit from u-blox AssistNow ancillary services. This online service provides GNNS broadcast parameters such as ephemeris, almanac, and time or rough location to reduce the first major repair time of the receiver and increase the sensitivity of the collection.
