The P5I2305AF-1H08TR clock/timing device is a high-performance clock generator, phase locked loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer. It’s a 7-input output Clock Generator & Frequency Synthesizer Device that combines a 77 to 6640 MHz input clock generator and five separate low-power PLL subsystems. The device also contains a Real-Time Frequency Analyzer and 255 programmable RTND settings. The clock generator has multiple inputs, including a crystal oscillator, a single-ended input, an LVDS input and an ultralow-noise advanced differential oscillator.
The clock generator and Frequency Synthesizer Device offer the highest performance among its peers and is ideal for a wide range of switching, clocking and communications applications. It can generate a variety of frequencies and clock formats used in systems ranging from general communication to high-speed data processing. Its inputs, outputs, and programmability give the P5I2305AF-1H08TR great flexibility, allowing customers to integrate it into a wide range of system design goals.
The device has five separate output banks. Each output bank has two individually programmable outputs. These output banks are independent from each other and can be configured to operate as a single-channel or dual-channel PLL. Each channel can support low- frequency PLLs for clock generation, as well as high-frequency PLLs for frequency synthesis. The output ports on each bank are connected to the clock generator through individual I2C interfaces.
The device features a Real-Time Frequency Analyzer that can log all output frequencies from the device. The analyzer then automatically changes settings if the frequency is out of range to keep consistency between the frequencies at the outputs. The 255 pre-programmed RTND settings can be changed by the user, allowing the device to be programmed to generate extremely precise and accurate frequencies. The P5I2305AF-1H08TR also features an ultralow-noise advanced differential oscillator which further ensures better stability of the generated frequencies.
