PQ1U351M2ZPH Application Field and Working PrinciplePQ1U351M2ZPH is a three-terminal, low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator integrated circuit intended to provide adjustable or fixed output with very low dropout voltage and low quiescent current. It belongs to the family of voltage regulators, linear. This product finds applications in pre-set power sources and battery power supply. It is used in digital imaging equipment, printers and projectors, portable computers, and so on. Moreover, it can also be used in Fax Machines, PDAs, Cellular Phones and other communication systems. The fixed output voltage is the nominal value when measured following the Pulse Load Test. The maximum output current of this product is 1.5A. The dropout voltage of the regulator is very low and stable, unlike other types of regulators, ensuring a high accuracy of the output voltage. The PQ1U351M2ZPH uses the standard LDO structure and has a built-in bias circuit. It features a wide voltage range of 1.2V to 12V, very low dropout voltage, error flag circuitry, thermal shutdown protection, and an output current limiter. The internal circuitry of PQ1U351M2ZPH consists of a bandgap reference circuit, error amplifier, current limiter, and output transistor. The bandgap reference circuit produces a stable reference voltage, which is used to regulate the output voltage. The error amplifier amplifies the difference between the output voltage and the reference voltage. This amplified error signal is then used to control the output transistor. The output transistor limits the current that flows through the load. This current is sensed by the current limiter, which then limits it to the maximum allowed value. If the current exceeds the maximum allowed value, the error flag circuit is activated and the output transistor is turned off. In order to minimize power dissipation and save energy, the output transistor is turned off when not in use. This is done using the internal power on/off control circuitry.
