DC-DC converters are power electronic devices used to convert electrical power from one form to another.PT6102G is a high-efficiency 2-Phrase Dimmable DC-DC Step-Down Converter with power factor correction features that ensures more stable and efficient power delivery. It has a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 18V and adjustable output voltage of 0.8V to VIN-0.3V. It can provide continuous output current up to 2.5A and peak output current of 3.8A. This converter is excellent for LED lighting, battery charging and microprocessor applications. It has built-in over-current and over-temperature protection.
The PT6102G operates in fixed frequency peak current mode control to provide excellent load and line regulation with fast transient response. The fixed operating frequency is selectable with two resistor pins. The current mode control also has adjustable soft-start and selectable current limit foldback to provide excellent light load efficiency and protects from over-voltage conditions. It also has built-in PWM dimming modulation for dimmable LED applications.
The controller features a high-efficiency synchronous rectifier driver and can drive up to two external P-channel FETs. The integrated synchronous rectifier driver has an adjustable dead-time to improve efficiency and aid in minimizing the external components. Larger output decoupling and input filter capacitors are optimized to reduce peak inductor current ripple for better stability and efficiency. The integrated synchronous rectifier driver also provides good EMI performance and reduces input ripple current.
The PT6102G has a wide range of protection features to protect the device from abnormal conditions. These include over-voltage protection, under-voltage lockout with adjustable hysteresis, over-temperature protection, over-current protection with selectable foldback limit, and over/under-voltage protection during dimming modulation.
The PT6102G is a high-efficiency, 2-phase dimmable DC-DC step-down converter with power factor correction features. It is excellent for LED lighting, battery charging and microprocessor applications. It has wide input voltage range and adjustable output voltage with over-current and over-temperature protection. The integrated synchronous rectifier driver also provides high efficiency and reduces input ripple current. The built-in protection features provide additional safety and reliability.
