Through Hole Resistors are resistive components which offer electrical resistance in most applications when connected in series with a circuit. RN65C4223FBSL is a through hole resistor specifically designed for AC or DC circuits, made of metal oxide film and having leads for mounting.

Application Field

The RN65C4223FBSL through hole resistor is used in many different applications of Electronics and Automation. Its primary uses include AC/DC switching control circuits, monitoring circuits, microprocessor circuits, and semiconductor circuits. It is also used for voltage regulating circuits, surge suppressive particular applications, noise reduction particular applications, and high speed frequencies.

This thick film resistor, certified by UL, C.S.A., IEC and VDE, offers superior electrical characteristics such as stability in temperature and power rating, low noise and rapid thermal response. Its unique construction makes it ideal for use even in high-power, high-voltage and high-frequency applications. The resistor can reliably handle up to 200 volts without requiring fusing and provide reliable operation up to 10mA. Its resistance range is 120K ohms and its temperature coefficient is ±100ppm/K.

Working Principle

The RN65C4223FBSL through hole resistor operates by creating a voltage drop across the resistor when a current passes through it. The voltage drop across the resistor is proportional to the current flowing through the resistor. This voltage drop is created because of the resistance being offered by the resistor to the flow of current. The amount of resistance is determined by the resistance value of the resistor. The resistance of the resistor is adjustable by varying the length and width of the resistor elements.

The resistor is connected in series with the circuit, which effectively increases the resistance of the circuit by the value of the resistor.
