RSTA 1 BULK application field and working principle

The RSTA 1 Bulk products are mainly used in power supply systems that need Surge Current Protection. RSTA 1 Bulk Fuses are available in two versions: direct and plug-in.

The plug-in type is preferred for multi-branch protection applications, as the plug-in version requires less space and allows easy replacement of a standard plug-in type fuse if required. The direct type is the more traditional type used in installations where the fuse is inserted and locked in place.

RSTA 1 Bulk Fuses feature a thermosetting silicon body with holding clips which also act as the secondary protection for the load circuit against short circuit. The better quality RSTA 1 Bulk Fuses also feature a pre-charged current limiter which protects the circuit from the most common overcurrent faults.

The holding clips maintain secure contact between the fuse and the circuit for maximum safety. RSTA 1 Bulk Fuses also feature surge current protection which is important in protecting the load circuit from short circuit conditions.

To prevent damage due to electrical or mechanical overloads, the RSTA 1 Bulk Fuse also features an overload protection which cuts off the power supply if the overload current exceeds the protected circuit maximum current rating.

The RSTA 1 Bulk Fuse also features an additional safety feature – an individual lockout device – which is designed to prevent unauthorized reconnection of the circuit after a fuse has been replaced.

In addition to providing protection against electrical or mechanical overloads, the RSTA 1 Bulk Fuse also features a fail-safe operation that allows the fuse to remain off and isolates the main power until its safe to re-connect it, ensuring the highest level of safety for the circuit.
