SI5335C-B05010-GMR Application Field and Working Principle
The SI5335C-B05010-GMR is a Clock/Timing generator, PLL and Frequency Synthesizer that comes with a wide variety of applications. It is a highly integrated, ultra-low power, Clock/Timing generator solution for next-generation communications, data processing, and home entertainment systems. The clock generator operates from an input frequency of 10 MHz to 225 MHz, and provides an on-chip low-phase-noise Differential Clock distribution network with up to 8 differential LVPECL outputs, each with up to 500 MHz of operation.
The SI5335C-B05010-GMR features a low-jitter Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) synthesis engine capable of synthesizing clock outputs from frequencies as low as 0.1 kHz and up to 400 MHz, while maintaining excellent frequency accuracy and phase noise performance.
The SI5335C-B05010-GMR\'s on-chip PLLs support frequency synthesis, and support multiple signal formats, including LVPECL, LVDS, CML, and LVCMOS. The chip also supports frequency scaling, fan-out, fan-in and gain control operations, making it an ideal solution for a variety of applications.
The SI5335C-B05010-GMR provides a complete solution for high-performance clock distribution networks in communications systems. It features an on-chip clock synthesizer, output drivers and programmable phase delays. The clock synthesis engine supports multiple signal formats, including LVDS, CML, LVPECL and LVCMOS. It provides up to 8 differential outputs and supports both ITU G.783 and IEEE 1497-2005 output timing standards. It features ultra-low-power consumption, integrated monitoring and protection features, and a wide range of operating conditions.
The SI5335C-B05010-GMR\'s working principle is based on using a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) to synthesize clock outputs from frequencies as low as 0.1 kHz to 400 MHz. The overall system architecture includes the PLL, voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), charge-pump, frequency divider, and output amplifier. Upon receiving the reference clock, the PLL locks onto it, adjusting the charge pump output voltage to vary the VCO frequency with the reference clock. The output signals are generated by the frequency divider and the output buffer. Once the PLL is locked, the user can program the frequency output with up to 8 bits of resolution.
The SI5335C-B05010-GMR can be utilized for high-performance clock distribution and jitter attenuation applications within a wide variety of data processing and communications systems, including in switching and routing solutions, base stations, SONET/SDH systems, radio communications, and Ethernet systems.
