Programmable oscillators provide an adjustable frequency clock source which can be fine tuned to the exact frequency needed. The SIT9005ACT2H-XXNB is one such programmable oscillator. It is available in three package types: 4-pad SOIC, 5-pad SOP and 7-pad WSON. The device has a wide operating temperature range of –40 to +85°C.

The oscillator frequency range is 6.25MHz to 166MHz and the Duty Cycle is programmable between 45/55, 50/50 and 55/45 in increments of 5%. The SIT9005ACT2H-XXNB features excellent static/dynamic characteristics. It has no internal VCXO start-up, that eliminates external Time-of-Flight requirement. The tolerance of the output frequency is <50ppm and the Rise/fall time is 80ps for a given load.

SIT9005ACT2H-XXNB also integrates a voltage controlled oscillator (VCXO) with a small Jitter mode. The VCXO is implemented in the same technology as SIT9005ACT2G to ensure robust design for low Jitter deterministic, and high performance signal output. The VCXO is used to provide the control signal to the circuits of the oscillator. For best results, the frequency of the VCXO should be tuned to a value that is close to the output frequency. The Jitter performance of SIT9005ACT2H-XXNB is superior to traditional VCXOs.

The SIT9005ACT2H-XXNB is a low phase noise programmable oscillator with high phase noise density, allowing it to be used in multiple applications. It can be used as a core clock source for programmable logic devices or as a reference clock for communication systems.
