Solid State Relays (SSR) are devices used to control the flow of electrical power in a circuit. SSR-240D2 is a type of Solid State Relays, it is a single-phase, two-wire device specifically designed for AC control.

Application field of SSR-240D2

The SSR-240D2 solid-state relay is capable of switching up to 24A of AC power with an input of up to 40VAC. It is intended for use in industrial and commercial applications and is suitable for switching motors, heaters, lighting, and other loads up to 25A. It offers built-in protection features and is compact, reliable and easy to install and operate. The SSR-240D2 can be used in the following areas:

  • Industrial Process Control
  • Electric Heaters, Fryers, Ovens
  • Power Conversion Control
  • Small Motors Controllers
  • Lighting Controls
  • HVAC/R Controls

Working Principle

The SSR-240D2 solid-state relays use a pair of Thyristors (SCR) to control the flow of the AC current. The two SCRs are triggered by the input signal, which is supplied to the SSR. The input signal is converted to an ac voltage level that is used to trigger the SCRs. When the signal is present, the SCRs are triggered on, causing the AC current to flow and the load to be switched. When the signal is removed, the SCRs turn off, stopping the flow of current and switching off the load.

The SSR-240D2 is protected from overloads and short circuits by a built-in over-current circuit breaker. If the load draws too much current, the breaker will trip, turning off the SCRs and preventing any further current flow. Thebreaker can be reset manually after the overload has been cleared.

The SSR-240D2 is equipped with LED indicators for overload, input signal, and output status. These indicators give instant visual feedback on the device\'s status and help troubleshoot problems quickly.

The SSR-240D2 is designed for long-term trouble-free operation with minimal maintenance. It is designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures and its construction is designed to meet UL and CE safety standards.
