These relays have a piezoelectric element, which vibrates when an electrical signal is applied to it. This vibration is then converted into a mechanical motion, which then triggers a switch to either close or open, according to the vibration of the piezoelectric element. Piezoelectric relays are often used in applications where a lower current level is required, such as in timing and control circuits.

Optical – Optical relays utilize an optical source and a receiver to trigger a switch. The receiver is sensitive to the light emitted from the source, and the switch is opened or closed depending on the intensity of the light. This type of relay is ideal for uses where the environment is contaminated with dust or dirt, as the source and receiver are not in physical contact with each other. The optical relay is also immune to electromagnetic interference.

No matter which type of SZX-SLB-08P relay socket is used, the devices all work in the same way – they create an electrical connection in response to an electrical signal.
