Tantalum capacitors have a wide range of applications, both as a general purpose capacitor in consumer products and in critical applications such as aerospace, military and medical electronics. T541X477M006AT8705 is a Ta-Polymer capacitor from the Kemet T541 series which is designed for use in high frequency applications and high temperature operating conditions. This capacitor offers small size and high capacitance values in order to provide reliable performance in harsh environments such as extreme temperature and vibration.Tantalum Polymer capacitors are composed of Tantalum powder and a Piezoelectric Polymer matrix. The combination of Tantalum powder and the polymer matrix creates an electrically stable, high capacitance device with a wide temperature range. The addition of the polymer allows for a wider capacitance range than traditional Tantalum capacitors. Furthermore, the polymer matrix also provides additional mechanical shock and vibration protection. The T541X477M006AT8705 offers a capacitor with a capacitance of 470μF at a rated voltage of 6.3VDC. The temperature range of this capacitor is -55°C/+125°C and it is available with a radial lead configuration. As a result, it offers excellent electrical stability with minimal ESR and ESL. The working principle of this capacitor is based on the Faraday law of inductance. The capacitor consists of two metal plates separated by an insulating material called the dielectric. When a voltage is applied, it induces an electric field in the dielectric. This field then induces an opposite electric field onto the opposite plate. This causes current to flow between the plates and a charge to build up on their surface. This charge creates a capacitance which can then be used to store energy for later use. The T541X477M006AT8705 is designed for use in high frequency applications and high temperature operating conditions.
