Tantalum Capacitors
T95R127M020ESSL is a high-performance and mid-to-high temperature tantalum capacitor with low ESR. It is a composite of electrolytic tantalum anode and manganese dioxide cathode and is characterized by dry plastic, compact size, stable performance and high self-healing capacity. It is widely used in military and aerospace, medical, computer storage and networking, and consumer electronics.
Applications
T95R127M020ESSL tantalums are mainly used in applications that require high temperature and low ESR, such as industrial, military and aerospace systems, medical equipment, computer storage and networking systems, and consumer electronics. These products are also suitable for use in POE (Power over Ethernet) systems, filtering, and voltage stabilization applications.
T95R127M020ESSL is suitable for use in high temperature and/or corrosive environments, such as those encountered by military or aerospace applications, medical equipment oreven industrial applications. Its high temperature rating of 125°C, low ESR rating of 0.06 ohms (due to its electrolytic manganese-dioxide cathode construction) and a very small form factor make it very attractive for these applications.
Working Principle
T95R127M020ESSL capacitor works based on thermal electromotive force. In this device, electrolytic solution bridged between the cathode and anode and causes a current to flow when a voltage is applied across the capacitors. This current creates a charge separation on the capacitors and initiates the current flow.
The capacitor is composed of two plates in an insulated container, the anode and the cathode. The plates are connected to a voltage source. As the voltage applied across the plates increases, the charge on the plates increases. The charged plate has a higher electric field strength than the other, and the electric field is released, creating an electric current known as an electric discharge. The total charge stored on the capacitor is determined by the current as well as the voltage.
The stored electric charge on the plate can be released all at once during a short period of time when the capacitance is slowly discharged to zero. This discharge creates a high current pulse and is an important feature of T95R127M020ESSL tantalum capacitor.
