Electronic devices are becoming increasingly advanced and small, making it necessary for a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) to be able to handle the complexity of the modern environment. The TLC7703QPW, or QuadReg-LB, voltage supervisor from Texas Instruments is designed to do just that, providing a reliable solution for monitoring voltage levels across multiple channels or portions of circuits. The TLC7703QPW also offers an on-chip watch dog timer which can be used to set a time-out period for the fault output.
In addition to the power management capabilities offered by the TLC7703QPW, the device also features a wide variety of protections. The over-temperature protection (OTP) prevents the device from being damaged by high temperatures, and a built-in thermal shutdown feature helps further enhance the safety. Protection from reversely applied voltages is also provided, and the device has a low-power enable circuit that is used to reduce the power consumption when the device is not in use.
The TLC7703QPW can provide many advantages to applications needing voltage monitoring, such as FPGAs and memory devices.
