Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are one of the oldest and most widely used types of capacitors in the industry, they possess relatively large capacitance values in a small volume and are mostly used in power circuits, i.e. DC power supplies. The UFW1E472MHD capacitor is a radial aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a capacitance of 47µF, a voltage rating of 25V, and a permissible ripple current of 130mA. It is also considered a Leakage Current (LC) type capacitor as it is crafted with a unique electrolyte that holds extra capacity to absorb LC. It is an ideal choice for applications with low impedances and high frequencies, especially in low-voltage circuits.

Working Principle

In aluminum electrolytic capacitors, the main component is an aluminum oxide layer which acts as the dielectric. The aluminum oxide layer is created through a process known as anodizing, which consists of submerging an aluminum cathode into an electrolyte solution, applying a voltage, and allowing oxide to form on the surface.
