Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are electrical components composed of two aluminum plates and a paper-like dielectric sheet. The two aluminum plates are insulated from each other via thin aluminum oxide films. One of the aluminum plates is C-shaped and is then wound as a roll to increase capacitance, while the other aluminum plate is a flat metal sheet. The capacitors are held in place on the circuit board by a metal shell.

The UMP1C4R7MDD1TE series is a high frequency, Chip Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor which has a very low leakage rate and offers high capacitance in a small form factor. It has a maximum operating temperature of 105℃ and a rated voltage of 6.3 VDC. The capacitors are available in sizes ranging from 0402 to 1210, with ESR values ranging from 0.006ohm to 0.208ohm.

The UMP1C4R7MDD1TE series has a variety of applications, including high frequency amplifiers, motor control, consumer electronics, solar energy, automotive electronics and medical equipment. The unique combination of low ESR and high capacitance makes this capacitor series ideal for high frequency boost converters, switch mode power supplies, and other power components. The working principle of the UMP1C4R7MDD1TE series is the same as other aluminum electrolytic capacitors. They are constructed from two aluminum layers. The anode being a piece of aluminum foil which are etched away to shape a number of Pore, and the Cathode being the anode layer after the electrolyte has been filled in the Pore. The electrolyte creates strong links between aluminum layers forming an electric field beneath the dielectric. As voltage is applied to the capacitor, electric field based charge transfer occurs. this charge transfer creates a pseudocapacitance between the anode and the cathode. As with other capacitors, the capacitance of the electrolytic capacitor is proportional to the cross sectional area of the anode and cathode, the distance between them, as well as the dielectric constant of the electrolyte.

The UMP1C4R7MDD1TE series is an ideal choice for all sorts of high frequency applications. Its small form factor and high capacitance makes it ideal for use in SMPS, solar energy, and motor control systems. With its high ripple current and low ESR ratings, the UMP1C4R7MDD1TE series also works very well for video circuits, audio filters and other general power applications.
