Aluminum electrolytic capacitors consist of a power cylinder that contains two electrodes, each separated by an electrolytic paper separator. The outer cylinders are filled with a solution of aluminum oxide, the core of the capacitor. This solution acts as an electrical insulator, preventing current from traveling between the electrodes. The electrodes are usually made of ultra-pure aluminum foil and/or titanium. The foil and/or titanium is then plated with a thin layer of electrolytic paper, typically consisting of low-resistivity polyvinyl alcohol (PVA).

UPM1E390MDD is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor which belongs to the UPM series. It is an E type capacitor with high voltage power rating of 390V and maximum ripple current of 20A.
