Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors and USW1H0R1MDD Application Field and Working Principle

Especially, USW1H0R1MDD aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in various applications. This paper mainly introduces the application fields and working principle of USW1H0R1MDD capacitors.

Application field of USW1H0R1MDD capacitor

USW1H0R1MDD capacitor is a snap in snap-in type capacitor. It’s mainly used for input/output smoothing, power supply filtering, timing applications and high frequency noise filtering. This capacitor is widely used in various applications such as medical instrumentation, HDD, industrial power supplies, server power supplies, UPS power supplies, network equipment and etc. The USW1H0R1MDD ripple current is 6mΩ and ESR value is 0.35mΩ, therefore it can easily meet the noise operating requirements in various applications.

Working principle of USW1H0R1MDD capacitor

The USW1H0R1MDD capacitor is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a wide range of operating temperature ranging from -55℃~125℃. It works by combining a dielectric material and a conducting electrode. This type of capacitor is typically made of two aluminum plates that are separated by a dielectric material, and also contains a liquid electrolyte and other supporting components. The two aluminum plates are positioned in such a manner that one of them is polarized and the other is not. The polarized plate has several layers of passivated metallic oxides that provide the electrical insulation properties.

When connected to a DC voltage, the electrolyte causes an electrical polarization between the two layers and the dielectric properties of the two layers change accordingly to form an electrical double layer. This allows the capacitor to store electrical charge in the form of electrical field. The higher the charge, the greater the capacitance. The capacitance of the USW1H0R1MDD capacitor depends on the area of the two plates and the distance between them. As the capacitance increases, the voltage between the two plates also increases.

The USW1H0R1MDD capacitor also provides AC power. When connected to an AC power source, the electric current alternates between positive and negative, causing the electric field to flow between the two layers. This causes the electrical double layers to expand and contract and the capacitance between the two plates varies as the current flows.

In addition, the USW1H0R1MDD capacitor also has excellent internal damping behavior. It features an internal damping resistance that effectively eliminates high frequency and low frequency noises, and is even able to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). This helps to improve the performance of the capacitor and makes it ideal for use in high-frequency applications.
