Aluminum electrolytic capacitors (AEC\'s) are a type of capacitor that utilizes electrolytes composed of a damping solvent and a small amount of ions to electrically separate the two plates and increase capacitance. The AEC consists of an anode and a cathode enclosed in a metal can with a liquid electrolyte in between. The AEC\'s are generally divided into two types, polarized and unpolarized, depending on the type and composition of the electrolyte. UWX1V100MCL1GB is a polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor (also known as aluminum electrolysis capacitor) which stands for UWX series, 1V rated voltage, 100μF capacitance and 2GB/G/GE series dendritic combination electrolytic. It has both polar and non-polar characteristics with an ESR of 0.2 ohms and ripple current of 1.4 A. UWX1V100MCL1GB series aluminum electrolytic capacitors are mainly suitable for high-frequency filtering circuits and its operating temperature ranges from −40°C to 85°C.The working principle of UWX1V100MCL1GBAEC is based on Faraday’s law of electrolysis. An electric current will pass through the liquid electrolyte and cause a separation of the anode and cathode plates. This current is known as the Electric Double Layer (EDL). The EDL will create a positive charge at the anode and a negative charge at the cathode. The charge separation will create a capacitance between the two plates, thus an electrical connection is established between them.In applications that require high frequency filtering and charge/discharge cycle control, AECs are an ideal solution. They are capable of storing a large amount of charge and releasing it when needed. They are particularly suitable for circuits with high frequency oscillation, such as switching power supplies, as the capacitors can reduce the formation of noise at low frequencies. Additionally, AECs are resistant to interference from external magnetic fields and are very stable in operation. The capacitance of UWX1V100MCL1GB series AECs can be adjusted by changing the thickness of the anode and cathode plates, as well as their size and material. The ESR of the AECs can be reduced by adding an electrolyte with higher chemical ionic content; thus, increasing the electrical conductivity of the electrolyte.
