DC-DC converters are widely used in a variety of circuits in order to convert a DC source voltage from one magnitude to another. This type of converter is mainly used in applications where the DC source voltage needs to be regulated or modified keeping the efficiency to the highest level. VE-J3W-EW-F2 or Voltage Converter Elantas-J3W-EW-F2 is one such DC/DC Converter specifically designed for 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V input and 6V or 12V output up to 8A continuous output current. It is a high-performance voltage converter with coil, bridge and relay switch. This converter integrates two stages, i.e., one non-isolated DC/DC stage and one isolated DC/DC stage.

Working Principle of VE-J3W-EW-F2

VE-J3W-EW-F2 is mainly built with two stages. The first stage of the converter is a non-isolated DC/DC stage. This stage is responsible for Step Down conversion of the input voltage. It is equipped with a synchronous Rectifier. The model offers up to 97% efficiency which makes it efficient when it comes to power conversion. The Step Down conversion is followed by the second stage, i.e. an isolated DC/DC stage, which is responsible for reverse voltage conversion. This stage is designed to provide galvanic insulation from input to output. The galvanic insulation ensures high level of safety. The design of the converter also features power factor correction that enhances the power drawn from the AC source.

In addition, the converter also features temperature-controlled PWM control. It is designed to regulate the input current and allows the converter to operate in a range between -30°C up to 70°C. For efficient power transfer, the VE-J3W-EW-F2 features a high isolation voltage of up to 10KVAC and is able to transfer up to 800W of power.
