The XC6108C36BGR-G is a power supply supervisor with an integrated voltage monitoring, system reset control and watchdog timer. This monolithic device is designed to help provide system protection and reliable operation in a variety of applications. The XC6108C36BGR-G monitors the voltage level of up to three power-supply and ground pins and can generate a reset signal for system reset if any of the monitored voltages drops below the reset threshold. Additionally, the watchdog timer is used to detect a particular device or system event that indicates a malfunction. In situations where the event does not occur within a specified amount of time, a reset signal is generated.

System Reset Control: The XC6108C36BGR-G monitors the voltages at the system’s three power-supply and ground pins. When any of the voltage levels drops below a predetermined reset threshold between 1.3V and 6.3V, a reset signal is generated. The active-low RESET pin is output and asserts high when the reset threshold is exceeded. The device can be programmed with a reset delay time to ensure that when powering up the system, no incorrect operation occurs due to the power supply voltage being out of the normal range. The startup current of the XC6108C36BGR-G is adjustable using a single programming pin (SEL).

Watchdog Timer: On board the XC6108C36BGR-G is a watchdog timer which can be set to detect a system event that indicates a malfunction. If an event does not occur within a specified amount of time the reset signal is generated. The active-low WDI pin is the watchdog input pin and is used to monitor a particular system event. The timer is restarted when a rising edge is detected on the WDI pin, restarting the timer period. The WDI input pin is internally pulled down and can allow the device to be reset via a programmable logic output in the system.
