The IEQ0512S12 is a DC-DC converter that uses synchronous rectification with integrated FETs to produce a high-current 12V output over a wide input voltage range. Features

Working Principle

The IEQ0512S12 operates on the Buck topology, a type of switching regulator. The Buck topology operates by taking the DC input voltage and converting it into a regulated DC output voltage. To accomplish this, the device consists of an input voltage controller, an output voltage controller, and an error amplifier that compares the feedback voltage to the reference voltage to ensure the correct output voltage. The input voltage controller senses the DC input voltage and supplies a fixed switching pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal to the output voltage controller. The PWM signal is used to control the amount of current that is supplied to the inductor, which in turn produces an output voltage. The output voltage controller then senses the output voltage and adjusts the current flow from the inductor in accordance with the feedback voltage. When the feedback voltage reaches the reference voltage, the output voltage remains constant.
